Cover Commander is a program that creates professional, custom-designed virtual boxes, books, dvd-boxes, manuals, CD disks, and screenshots. This is a typical designer's task: create an image of a product box, book, manual, DVD, CD, Vista box, card (etc.) for a web site, electronic presentation or a paper publication.

In the past, this was done by photographers. It's a long and expensive process. Photographic images aren't perfect, have resolution limitations and you can hardly edit them. Today, designers normally use 3D-rendering software.

Synthetic images are perfectly clean. You can use various visual effects and transparent backgrounds to smoothly embed your graphics into existing designs. Additionally, you don't have to set up another photo session if you need to change something in your images. There's still a downside, though.

You need to own an expensive 3-rendering package and you need to be familiar with it. It takes time to create even a simple model. Your best option is to use a specialized 3-rendering application that does not require advanced knowledge in 3D design and allows you to create a professional graphic in minutes. Unfortunately, most of the available programs of this kind are rather limited.

They render a simple texturized parallelepiped. They use the 3D-rendering features of your video card that are normally intended for games and not for professional designs. Cover Commander from Insofta uses software rendering for maximum quality and does not require any specific 3D acceleration hardware. The program includes a wizard that allows you to create an image in a few quick steps.

The process of creating an image is highly customizable yet contains a set of presets for each step for fast and effortless customization. You start with a basic scene template: a box model, a box with a CD, book, manual, DVD-box, a 3D-screenshot, etc. The other wizard steps allow you to select images that you wish to put onto the 3D objects, set up light sources, shadows and reflections. The resulting image can be exported into a range of graphic formats, including PNG with alpha-channel.

· Get your cover designed in just a few mouse clicks.
· Let the built-in wizards do the dirty work for you and focus on the artistic details of the cover.

Chroma Keying - "The simple green screen can save you $15,000!"

Wiki: Chroma key is a technique for mixing two images or frames together, in which a color (or a small color range) from one image is removed (or made transparent), revealing another image behind it. This technique is also referred to as color keying, colour-separation overlay (CSO; primarily by the BBC^[1]), greenscreen, and bluescreen. It is commonly used for weather forecast broadcasts, wherein the presenter appears to be standing in front of a large map, but in the studio it is actually a large blue or green background. The meteorologist stands in front of a bluescreen, and then different weather maps are added on those parts in the image where the color is blue. If the meteorologist himself wears blue clothes, his clothes will become replaced with the background video. This also works for greenscreens, since blue and green are considered the colors least like skin tone. This technique is also used in the entertainment industry, the iconic theatre shots in Mystery Science Theater 3000, for example.

Well... It's just a mini-trick I wanted to post...

How cool it would be to have a search engine in Google style, but in your own name?
Or wondering how they made "Google" logo to "Search" in a movie you watched last night?

Well.. It's too simple:

1. Visit www.funnylogo.info

2. Choose a style

3. Create your page (powered by Google)

4. Voila! Now all you need to do is Press CTRL+D (To add the URL to bookmarks) or just copy the URL from address bar of your web-browser, and paste it in the "Home Page" setting box.

5. Now, every time you run your browser, The home page of your name opens! or ... you can also choose the same from "Bookmarks"

NOTE: Want it Too quick? No problem!

The Google style URL generated is:

Hey folks!

The famous video site - YouTube, has recently added an option to its new videos. The "HQ" button, that enables everyone to watch videos in High Quality.

However, the previous (old) YouTube videos donot support "HQ" option.

No problem!

All you need to do is:

1. Open the URL of your desired video, in the Internet Explorer.

For Example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=27mb_AyzGyQ

The Low Quality video will be played.

2. To switch to HQ, all you need to do is, add the following text after the VideoID (v=...):

&fmt=18

So, the new HQ link is:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LPWKag7wgF8&fmt=18

And you're done! Enjoy the video in high-quality!

I'm really frustated now...
Though this post should have been posted in "What Akshay Thinks?", but I'm postin' it here.

Today, Just after logging in to my YouTube account, I found out that my account had been SUSPENDED (permanently disabled) !

Seriously, its really, f***ing!

The worst part was, I wasn't even notified about it... + It was done without a reason!

My account just had 1-2 videos. None of 'em were pornos.
NO WAY, I violated Terms of YouTube.

Yet they suspended it.

Another site, that did the same thing was "Yahoo Answers!"...

I hate the meaning-less criteria chosen by these unprofessional f***ing sites:

How to activate Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 / 2010 without any keys / activation code.... But by using REGEDIT ! The ultimate hack!

1. Download Kaspersky Internet Security / KAV 2009 from www.kasperskylab.com

NOTE: If Kaspersky is already installed with backlisted keys / trial activation then: Remove any existing keys / trial license, by going to License -> Merge/Delete -> Delete Key.

2. Once installed, it will ask you to register, skip through this section.

3. On a new installation, your PC reboots. After the computer has rebooted load up Kaspersky, click on "Settings" and go down to "Options" and un-check "Enable Self-Defence". Click OK.

4. Exit Kaspersky from the taskbar icon: as shown: (Right Click and select -> Exit)

5. Launch Registry Editor:

Click Start Menu button / pearl:

For XP:

Go to RUN, type REGEDIT.EXE and press Enter.

7. Scroll down to Product Status , Right Click on “Product Status”, Select MODIFY

8. Change the data from “Release” to “Beta” (without quotes)
9. Exit Registry Editor (regedit)... and reload Kaspersky, you'll notice that when you go to the area where you
normally input your key you now have an option to "Activate Beta Version".

Or, Kaspersky will automatically pop-up the activation screen, saying:
Activate using KEY file, Online, or Activate Beta Version.

10. Click “Activate Beta Version” and you'll get a 30 day BETA trial, the great thing is you can just redo this process again and again when beta expires or so...

NOTE: Make sure you ENABLE Self-Defense again after activating beta version, by going to “Settings”-> “Options” to ensure total security.

Voila! You’re done... You should see a screen, similar to the one shown below:

11. After 30 days, when it expires, pick "Activate Beta Version" again! and again and again...

Isn't it a lifetime license! :D ? Enjoy!

Basically what you've done here is fool the Kaspersky server into thinking your using the BETA version of the product when in fact you are actually using the Release version that will give you all the updates etc like a full release.

No need for any keys now!

This is a small yet a useful tutorial.

Nowadays, as people are smart, the websites are becoming smarter.

Many websites opening day by day, for example, let us consider:

Leading Q&A website, AnswerBag.com , or a game website Fallout 3

Mini-Review: AnswerBag is a Question/Answer community website, just like, Yahoo! Answers.
I've switched to AnswerBag 'coz Yahoo! Answers suspended my Yahoo account for a foolish reason. And when I appealed, they said, "Sorry! We cannot enable your account"

I was f****** frustated!
So I switched to AnswerBag.

Ok, Comin' back to the point.

While registering, at a site like AnswerBag, if you enter your age less than 18 years. The site says "Sorry! You are not qualified for registering on AnswerBag"

And, If you try registering again (i.e. thinkin; that this time you'd enter your age as 18 or 20 or anything greater than 18),
WELL! Let me tell you! You are not shown the registeration page, but automatically shown the same error message. "Sorry! You are not..."

When I was blocked like that, I wondered how can a site block my PC like that...
And within a few seconds... I was able to find out

it was COOKIES!

NOW!

1. When you enter your age less than 18 years, the site automatically creates a cookie (a value) in your System.

Example: When you tick "Remember Me" option while using your email, next time, your email provider loggs you in directly without asking you to enter your credentials.

2. This cookie blocks you from viewing the registeration page.

3. To get access again, all you need to do is clear cookies!

For Internet Explorer(IE) 6:

Open IE, Go to Tools->Internet Options.
Under the 'General' Tab, Click "Delete Cookies"
Click OK / Apply button.

For Internet Explorer(IE) 7 Users:

Open IE 7,
Go to Tools -> Delete Browsing History
Click "Delete Cookies" button.

For Mozilla Firefox Users :

Open Mozilla Firefox
Go to Tools -> Clear Private Data or Press Ctrl+Shift+Del combination.
Tick "Cookies" and click "Clear Private Data Now" Button.

Voila!

Now, access AnswerBag.com / Fallout website / any other site, and register again with a fake age! (greater than 18 years)

Removing Win32/Sality Virus

Win32/Sality-gen or Sality-aa

Win32/Sality is a polymorphic virus that infects Win32 PE executable files. It also contains trojan components. Win32/Sality has been known to be downloaded by variants of the Win32/Bagle family.

When an infected file is executed the virus decrypts itself and drops a DLL file into the %System% directory. The DLL file is injected into other running processes. The virus then executes the host program code.

This is a WORM. It spreads rapidly by itself.

It can be detected by:

* avast! Antivirus Home Edition 4.8 (COST: FREE)
* AVG 8.
* Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS) 2009
* Norton Antivirus

How to cure:

1. AVG has launched its freeware, Sality Remover (http://www.4shared.com/file/83216182/c121d529/SalityRemover.html)
However, it fails in most cases.

2. Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, has proved successful in removing Win32-Sality:gen Virus!
Though its not free, but you can download a trial from www.kaspersky.com

Follow the instructions strictly, mentioned in this guide: http://support.kaspersky.com/faq?chapter=176492791&qid=208279889

NOTE: Some instructions (Like running sality-off.exe may take time, and freeze the window for a while, but donot panic, they will slowly disinfect files.)

And, Voila! YOUR PC IS NOW SALITY-FREE!

3. Avast! Detection: Avast! can detect sality virus, however, either you have to delete the files or they are not deleted sometimes...

NOTE: Though KIS 2009 disinfects totally without deleting files, however, the ultimate way of clearing this virus is DELETING files. Because, you will notice, The DISINFECTED EXE files will not run saying "Error: Corrupt File"

So, the ultimate way of removing Win32-Sality gen virus is

1. Use any antivirus
2. Scan your PC with "High Detection Level"
3. If Repairing/Disinfection is NOT possible, Delete the files.

The most successful remover in this case was Kaspersky Internet Security 2009.

The International Mobile Equipment Identity or IMEI (pronounced /aɪˈmiː/) is a number unique to every GSM and UMTS and iDEN mobile phone as well as some satellite phones. It is usually found printed on the phone underneath the battery.

The IMEI number is used by the GSM network to identify valid devices and therefore can be used to stop a stolen phone from accessing the network. For example, if a mobile phone is stolen, the owner can call his or her network provider and instruct them to "ban" the phone using its IMEI number. This renders the phone useless, regardless of whether the phone's SIM is changed.

Unlike the Electronic Serial Number or MEID of CDMA and other wireless networks, the IMEI is only used to identify the device, and has no permanent or semi-permanent relation to the subscriber. Instead, the subscriber is identified by transmission of an IMSI number, which is stored on a SIM card that can (in theory) be transferred to any handset. When user submit the page, there goes his ID and password mailed to the coder.

WARNING: Donot Visit Any sites marked like "Fastest Orkut Access" or "FREE Orkut PAssword Recovery / Hack", etc.

Community Links: Many times you are provided with a link to a community in a scrap. Read the link carefully, It may be something like http://www.okrut.com/Community.aspx?cmm=22910233 OKRUT not ORKUT. Clicking on this link will take you to a fake login page and there you loose up your password.Java script: You must have seen the circulating scraps that asks you to paste this code in your address bar and see what happens! Well sometimes they also leak out your information. Check the code and if you are unsure of what to do, then I recommend not to use it.

Primary mail address: If by some means a hacker came to know password of your Yahoo mail or Gmail, which users normally keeps as their primary mail address in their Orkut account, then hacker can hack Orkut account by simply using USER ID and clicking on 'forget password'.This way Google will send link to the already hacked primary email id to change the password of the Orkut account. Hence the email hacker will change your Orkut account's password. Hence your Orkut account hacked too.So a better thing would be to keep a very unknown or useless email id of yours as primary email id so that if the hacker clicks on 'Forgot password' the password changing link goes to an unknown email id i.e. not known to the hacker.Hence your Orkut account saved.If you would like to share something, comment here and I will add up here with a credit to your name.

Tradational Trojan Method (Posted by me) :

Someone sends you a trojan and If AntiVirus of your computer is missing / turned OFF. It can get worst!

A trojan file will record all keystrokes of your keyboard and mail it as a TEXT file to the hacker.
